Shall the pre-work BEGIN! Meeting my CSCIndia38 team!
One of the most interesting things in this experience will surely be interact with other IBM employees or IBMers - as we call ourselves - from all over the world! In order to get prepared for this journey we have some pre-work to do to ensure we are all up-to-speed in terms of getting to know each other, getting to know the NGO we will be supporting as well as the culture of the foreign country we're going to. But the one I was most excited to do is surely to know who will share this experience with me and surely become my family meanwhile I'm in India!
So, to get started, I have to confess! When I received the e-mail from our IBM Corporate Service Corps leader (CSC) - Jamie McDonald regarding the group I was selected to, the first thing I did was to go over each one of the e-mails and based on the e-mails, their IBM intranet profiles to see who is part of my team, where they're from, their roles, etc and guess what I found out:

1) We will be 15 IBMers
2) There are 8 women and 7 men
3) We're from China, Ireland, Mexico, USA, Canada, Australia, Venezuela, Chile and finally Brazil (me)
4) We have different ages
5) We're in different positions, including Consultant, Sales Specialist, Offering Manager, Project Manager, Product Owner and Community Leader, Portfolio Marketing Manager, Software Developer and Solution Manager (me)
6) The time we have been in IBM also varies between 2.5 - 21 years!
7) We have a mix of single and married people!
8) Most of us have traveled to other countries, but only I have been to India before.
This confirms what I have always been told that IBM CSC focuses on bringing the most various teams together to ensure cross-functional teams to increase productivity and flexibility! I am becoming more and more anxious around this experience and I am quite sure we will be a great team together!
We still do not know what will be our project and main goals in this assignment, but I am sure that based on this variety of skills, culture background and experience we will make great things together!
I hope you enjoyed reading this and I am looking forward for your comments!
Stay tuned for the next post! I'm planning to make it in 2 weeks from now!
Cheers!
