Life story: Moment to think back our lives and get to know each other better
Our CSC Family: CSC India 38. This is how we call ourselves and this is how I heard some of my CSC partners and family members reinforcing how we saw each other during this assignment yesterday, March 3rd, during our Life Story presentation and how I am sure we will keep calling ourselves throughout this month.
One month away from our family, friends, home, country and comfort zone is not easy but having a team of top talent IBMers with the same goal and mission makes it easier and very exciting too. It does not stop being challenging because we're all immersed in a different culture and with high responsibility to accomplish the best for our CSC clients so it is very important to have a family that supports us whenever needed.
When it comes to talk about life, about our emotions and to make a retrospective of everything that happened to us and that actually defines us is not that easy because we have to think back and sometimes it is hard to remember what is in the past and sometimes that is how we want it to be, but at the same time I feel it a very enriching experience to define us as people and it is also very good so we can remember the life's lessons we may have forgotten. This is the group activity we did yesterday - and this time we had our newly arrived Claudia (Chile), Jeffrey (China) and Claes (Sweden) with us. We're all waiting for John (Ireland) to get to know him too.

When we first started this activity, I started seeing the different expertise and profiles we have in our CSC Family because each person think a different way and presents it differently in a chart. I saw people using timeline to talk about their life story, I saw some using words only and others using pictures only and others mixing both. Jeffrey was creative and used Empathy Map and I liked the way Claes and Ana Gaby represented their life stories by dividing them in different dimensions. My life story chart started in the base of my life: My Family. Then, it moved to my career aspirations, hard skills, dreams, missions, hobbies and others.
It was an amazing time so we could get to know each other and also an opportunity to open ourselves to our new family. Of course, putting into a single paper our life story is not easy, but the main objective was to share our essence and I really think we all did that very well. Becoming a family with people we did not know before, that do not share the same blood is only possible because we have a connection that bound us all together: IBM CSC and the ultimate goal to donate our time and dedication for the best of the others.
Thanks a lot for this experience and thanks a lot to my CSC India 38 team and family for this session. I can feel the connection and the empathy growing everyday between us all and this will certainly allow this experience to be even better.
We're just getting started!
